Students will gain a greater understanding of the world we live in. Students will study historical documents, cartoons, video documentaries, films, old newspapers, maps, graphs, charts, and diagrams to develop an understanding of twentieth century world history. Students will be assessed through resource analysis, essay writing and research. Topics for 2022 include USA: Boom and Bust, Origins of World War 2, and Springbok Tour 1981. There is an opportunity to visit Omaka Aviation Centre to investigate NZ involvement in World War 2.
This Level 1 course is semester based and students can choose to take one or both semesters of the course.
