Students will use their prior knowledge of food design and development to work alongside industry mentors and/or clients. Our programme aims to develop in-depth problem solving skills through design thinking, risk taking and intelligent failure. They will solve problems with critical and original thinking and have the opportunity to participate in the NZIFST CREST Food Innovation Challenge. They will develop a conceptual design, use modelling media to demonstrate the fitness for purpose and explain the knowledge that underpins the development of their food technology outcome.
This is a University Entrance approved subject and will be beneficial to students who are interested in areas where critical thinking, creativity and innovation are important qualities.
