In this English/Music course designed for students who are interested in learning how to compose music that reflects and promotes social justice issues you will inquire into the special power that comes when great lyrics and great music combine to make excellent songs. You will explore the history and role of music in social movements, and learn how to use music as a tool for expression, education, and activism. You will work with other students, building your skills of collaboration in the creative process of writing your own song, which you will perform to the class.
