Course Description

Teacher in Charge:

Food has seen an explosion in cultural popularity in Western countries. No longer reserved  to expensive restaurants, everyone can now enjoy and experience culinary delight in their own home. This course is a combination of food technology and design. You will work collaboratively to create and develop their own signature food products by working through a creative design process. You will then explore how to create a food budget, as well as explore the importance of marketing and packaging design. 

• What are food trends? 

• Explore sustainable packaging, and create a budget 

• How do people excel in the highly competitive culinary industry? 

• Why is the nutritional and health value of food important? 

• Why are the practices used in kitchens important and what role does sustainability have?
