9 Earth and Beyond 1

Course Description

Teacher in Charge:

You will look at the structure of Earth, tectonic plates and continental drift and explore the resources that allow life to flourish on our planet. We will look at astronomical cycles such as day and night, seasons, eclipses and how these affect biodiversity and ecology. We will investigate the solar system, space travel and its’ implications for future life ‘off world’. Students will learn: - how the Earth's Resources enable life to flourish; - The effects of astronomical cycles on the planet and on biodiversity; - The implications of space travel and colonising other planets in the solar system

  • Why are humans fascinated by space? 
  • How can we better understand space?
