Hokonui Fashion Design Sem 1

Would you create a garment crafted from the beauty of mother earth, using natural fibres and techniques? Or would you create streetwear seen on the streets of NY, recycled garments giving old fabric new life,  or glamorous creations to walk the red carpet at the MetGala?  Work collaboratively with a group to design a garment that will walk the runway in Gore at the 2024 Hokonui Fashion Design Competition. 

This is the longest running fashion design award in NZ. The student categories allow you to design and create a garment in the category of Natural Fibre, Streetwear, Upcycled, or Glamour categories. Your small design team will work together to create a unique vision to walk the runway and wow the judges. You will learn the design process and explore new ways of thinking about the category you select, and techniques to make your idea come to life.
