Join us in the Whānau Kai course where you'll embark on a transformative journey to enhance the well-being of individuals and whānau through the power of healthy food. Rooted in manaakitanga—embodying hospitality, generosity, and care for others—this course empowers you to make a real impact in our community. Collaborate with community organisations, including the charitable Kura Kai, to create nutritious meals for our school freezer, supporting those in need throughout our community. Dive deep into essential topics such as the cost of living, global through to local food security and distribution. Based on how millennials are consuming kai, students will collaborate in a design team, to re-imagine how food can be prepared and distributed using a ‘health and sustainability lens’ pitching their ideas in a showcase. Gaining practical insights into sustainable practices and equitable food access.
