Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr M. Lower.
In this course, you will study a range of texts, including short stories, feature articles and a film. You will develop critical thinking, beyond-the-text comprehension, and essay writing skills. This course will enable you to write confidently and critically, and will develop your understanding of and appreciation for the creators of texts. The assessments undertaken in this course are mainly internally assessed. They range from a close study of a film director to the Writing Portfolio. Additionally, you will prepare to sit one external standard – the film-based essay standard.
